Firth, who will compete for a Best Actor Academy Award on Sunday (27Feb11), was voted the country's ideal next-door neighbour in a poll by U.K. property website Zoopla.co.uk.
The King's Speech star took more than 15 per cent of the votes, seeing off competition from Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, who was the runner-up with 10 per cent.
Meanwhile, glamour model Katie Price was named the least desirable celebrity to live next door to, while other nightmare neighbours included pop star Kerry Katona and reality TV rejects
