Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal in principle to sign Steven Pienaar from Everton, according to the Guardian newspaper, although they may wait until the summer before completing the deal.

The South African midfielder is out of contract in the summer, and so would be available on a free transfer, but Tottenham could force a deal through now for a fee of around two million pounds (approximately R21 million).
Spurs beat off interest from Internazionale and Atletico Madrid to land the 28-year-old.
