Spurs plan to build new venue

Tottenham unveiled plans Wednesday to tear down the London Olympic Stadium and build a new 60,000-capacity venue in their place without a running track, arguing that is the only viable option for the site after the 2012 Games.

The Premier League club's chief architect claims that a rival bid from West Ham is flawed because football fans would not have a good enough view of the field if it retains the track.

Tottenham had remained silent about the details of its bid before Wednesday and is only countering West Ham's much-publicized plans just as the Olympic Park Legacy Company
