Williams fighting to keep new movie's sex scene from the editing room

Officials at the Motion Picture Association of America's Classification and Rating Administration have awarded the movie a restrictive NC-17 rating because of a drunken sex scene featuring Williams and her co-star Ryan Gosling.

Producer Harvey Weinstein is challenging the movie censors' over the ban for under-17s, and an appeal hearing will take place later this month (Nov10).

But Williams tells Entertainment Weekly magazine that no matter what, the film should not be cut.

She says, "I’m happy for it to stay just like it is. Genuinely, I am. Movies get to have long lives and it’ll be judged and rejudged in 10 or 20 or 30 years, and I’ll be curious to see how it stands."

But she's still unhappy with the MPAA rating:
